Synastry: Eugene, Oregon, and its benefactor Phil Knight

Nike co-founder Phil Knight earned his undergraduate degree from Eugene’s University of Oregon. Since making it big, he has made significant donations to fund academic and athletic facilities at the University of Oregon. Given that the University of Oregon is a major institution in Eugene, it makes sense to look at the synastry between Knight (birth data from Wikipedia, untimed) and the city of Eugene.

You can’t make this up — Knight’s Jupiter, the planet of generosity, is conjunct Eugene’s Aquarius Ascendant and opposite Eugene’s Leo Moon.

Eugene, with a lot of Libra energy, tends to have trouble getting things done. The perfect is commonly the enemy of the good. Knight’s Saturn in Aries conjoins Eugene’s Mars-Neptune conjunction in Aries and opposes Eugene’s Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Libra, providing structure and focus that would otherwise be lacking. Things get done his way, but at least they get done.

Extra credit: Synastry between Phil Knight and my dad

My late father, a longtime Eugene resident, used to write up his ideas and send them to various rich people whom he hoped would fund them. He sent at least one proposal to Phil Knight, but I don’t think Knight ever wrote him back. Of course, Knight has Pluto in Cancer right on Dad’s Venus (Cancer)-Neptune(Libra) square.

Seeking book cover help

I’m finally ready to deal with making the IngramSpark version of Impossible Dreams, which will make it easier for bookstores to stock the book. However, IngramSpark’s cover design tool seems harder to use than the Amazon equivalent. I am looking for a freelance graphics person who can take a blank template provided by IngramSpark, put in the front cover graphic panel I already have, and add text to the spine and back of the book cover template in fonts matching the Amazon version of the cover.
