I had to spend a lot of time last week dealing with a water leak in my car, so I wasn’t able to finish my taxes in advance of Mercury turning retrograde today — not the end of the world, just not what I wanted.
When I discovered the water leak in early March, transiting Saturn conjoined my car’s Mars at 10° Pisces. My regular mechanic recommended an auto glass specialist who also does water leak testing on cars, and that took place during last week’s Scorpio Moon — the perfect Moon placement for detective work involving water. The water leak testing found one leak in the trunk that had an easy fix, but it also left open the possibility of another leak near the front of the car. Perhaps clarity will come when my car has its Mars return at the end of this week.
Yes, cars have astrological charts too! I wouldn’t have thought of this on my own, but when I bought my car from a used car dealership in 2011, a Carfax printout was included. You can get your car’s date of manufacture by purchasing a $44.99 Carfax report. Unfortunately, time of manufacture is not included: https://www.carfax.com/company/vehicle-identification-numbers-vins
I just bought a new Carfax report to confirm that they still do this. Yes, they do, but neither the 2011 report nor today’s report includes the location where my car was manufactured. That information was inside the car, on the sticker on the edge of the driver’s side front door (you have to have the door open to see it) that has the VIN — Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. Per Wikipedia, that’s in Georgetown, Kentucky.
Astrologically, my car is the perfect match for me: the car’s Moon-Venus-Sun conjunction at the Cancer/Leo cusp is conjunct my Mercury 0° Leo, and the car’s Jupiter-Mercury conjunction later in Leo is close to my Sun 19° Leo.
That said, the car’s Saturn 6° Cancer is square my Venus 5° Libra, so it has been a bit of a money pit. Over time, I have tracked its repairs in a spreadsheet.
April’s paid subscriber goodie is a blank version of my car repair spreadsheet. You can add more rows if there are any repairs I left out, but what I have should at least get you started. This spreadsheet would also be useful for non-astrologers, although the fun part is being an astrologer and looking at the dates as transits to your car’s natal chart.
As a reminder, paid subscribers to my Substack also have the ability to start threads in Substack Chat to ask me astrological questions.
