Weekend Entertainment Guide 2/21/25 + New Moon 2/27/25
Jesus Christ Superstar, SuperDapp, Pisces Stellium
Mercury in Pisces squared Jupiter in Gemini on February 20 — makes sense for getting the “Near email length limit” alert like I did during the recent Mercury in Sagittarius transit! I actually succeeded in acquiring a Library of Congress Control Number for Changing of the Guards: Pluto on the Precipice this week. The final Piscean letting go is still the hard part.
New Moon 2/27/25
For the New Moon on February 27, 2025, the Sun and Moon will join a substantial pileup in the sign of Pisces: Mercury, Saturn, Neptune, and the North Node. What I would say about the gestalt of all this is that there’s likely to be a collective outpouring of emotion.
Although COVID-19 is most obviously associated with 2020’s convergence of Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in Capricorn, I also remember it as a Pisces phenomenon because the Sun was close to Neptune in Pisces when the lockdowns began in March 2020. Our normal ways of doing things abruptly dissolved — a very Pisces word!
Issues related to COVID-19 could therefore be revisited under the current Pisces stellium. Casting the February 2025 New Moon chart for Washington, DC, the Pisces stellium falls in the 6th house, making health concerns a potential area of focus for the United States.
Pisces is also associated with religion and spirituality, so another potential big news story for the Pisces New Moon would be a development with Pope Francis, who is currently hospitalized with pneumonia. If he died or otherwise became unable to continue serving as pope, he would be mourned — by some, anyway.
I am not and have never been Catholic, but as an outside observer, I have noticed that the Roman Catholic Church has become more Protestant than it used to be in terms of infighting. Impossible Dreams: Hopes, Fears, and Expectations for Saturn in Pisces contains my interview with Samantha Corey and Jeanne Bishop, two members of my local astrology community who grew up Catholic during the 1960s, when the Second Vatican Council was going on. They recounted that, pre-Vatican II, the Catholic community seemed united in deference to its authority figures.
Now, however, Pope Francis’s critics include conservative voices within the Roman Catholic Church. I have long admired the Catholics’ ability to maintain a shared identity as Catholic despite any disagreements they may have with one another. Protestants can typically have more confidence that the person next to them in the pew believes exactly what they believe, but it comes at the cost of knowing that schism into a new denomination over any little frustration is always possible. That said, under the tenure of Pope Francis, the Catholics have become more internally divided than I have ever seen them.
Pope Francis has also been featured in some of the internet’s more creative conspiracy theories, such as one claiming that he is colluding with a Muslim leader to create a “One World Religion.” Unfortunately, this sort of wild speculation has the potential to increase with the transiting stellium in imaginative Pisces. We may need to look to the opposite sign, earthy Virgo, for a reminder that many allegations circulating on the internet are all fart and no shit.
Venus Retrograde in Aries and social media
It’s important to remember that a major cultural event or trend doesn’t have to be explained by just one astrological transit — multiple astrological influences can come together, each adding its own nuance to whatever the phenomenon is. In Weekend Entertainment Guide 1/24/25, I connected the drama over TikTok being banned and then unbanned to the Jupiter-Saturn square because Jupiter is currently in Gemini, a sign that is obviously related to social media. However, Chris Brennan of The Astrology Podcast took a different route and linked the TikTok uproar to this year’s Venus Retrograde in Aries, as other social media sites experienced major setbacks surrounding previous Venus Retrograde in Aries transits.
Per the transcript, past occurrences of this sort included the closure of Vine in 2017, the departure of MySpace’s founders in 2009, and the closure of Six Degrees of Separation at the transition from 2000 to 2001. Venus Retrograde repeats in the same sign every eight years.
Meanwhile, I’m beta testing a social media app that’s trying to get started during the current Venus Retrograde in Aries cycle! Like many people, I bought cryptocurrency for the first time during the upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic, and that led me to the secure messaging app FortKnoxster, which included a crypto wallet and its own crypto coin. The FortKnoxster app then closed down, but it got acquired by SYS Labs, which is in the process of relaunching the basic FortKnoxster idea as SuperDapp.
My referral code to try out the SuperDapp beta test is here, and my previous writing about SuperDapp is here. As noted on their X account, SuperDapp plans to release something big on February 24 — just after Mars finally goes direct.
What does it mean to start a social media site during Venus Retrograde in Aries, an influence associated with the downfall of other social media sites? Hopefully, it at least means there is room at the top!

Posts about the Sun and much more transiting Pisces
, Tuesday 2/18/2025: News, News, News; Mars Turns DirectElisabeth Grace found that music from Jesus Christ Superstar resonated with the vibe of the conjunction between Venus and the North Node at the end of Pisces earlier this month. Funny enough, I wound up writing about Jesus Christ Superstar for other reasons at the bottom of this post. I’d already looked at the chart of Jesus Christ Superstar in a previous post, and the album’s chart has a Venus-Neptune conjunction at the end of Scorpio that the recent Venus-North Node conjunction at the end of Pisces trined, so I can see how there was a sense of connection.
, Predictions for Sun in Pisces 2025Richmond looks at the astrology of the next couple of months:
On March 30, Neptune departs Pisces and enters Aries, shifting collective thought from a focus upon the image of the downtrodden, the defeated, and the victimized to a focus upon the image of vitality, energy, and the can-do spirit. This astrological happening is certain to correlate to a radical alteration in the atmosphere of all interactions, providing a fresh opportunity to address problems and develop solutions on the basis of capacity instead of assumed incapacity. For those who have felt marginalized, ignored, and undervalued during Neptune’s transit of Pisces for the last 16 years, this shift will offer an opportunity to move out of that zone and into something much more engaging.
I personally agree that there will be changes in how victimhood is handled when Neptune moves from Pisces to Aries, although I don't think the lure of victimhood will go away entirely. I think we will just reshuffle which wounds we validate and which wounds we ignore.

I love hoarding charts: updates on Cynthia Erivo and Jesus Christ Superstar
In Weekend Entertainment Guide 11/22/24, I identified the 1970 musical Jesus Christ Superstar as representing a moment similar to the present — just like we now have multiple outer planets shifting from Water and Earth signs to Fire and Air signs, Pluto was then in Virgo approaching Libra, and Neptune was then in Scorpio approaching Sagittarius.
Apparently, I’m not the only one vibing with Jesus Christ Superstar these days. Broadway World reports that a production of the musical is scheduled to take place at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this summer — and Cynthia Erivo, who recently starred in the movie Wicked as discussed in Weekend Entertainment Guide 12/20/24, will play the role of Jesus!
The charts I collected for Erivo and the Jesus Christ Superstar album in the course of writing my past articles are both untimed. Erivo has the Moon in Taurus opposite Pluto in Scorpio, and the album has an overlaying configuration of the Moon in Taurus opposite Jupiter in Scorpio. If birth times were known, it’s possible those two Taurus Moons could be more closely conjunct.
Erivo’s Mars at the end of Pisces opposes the album’s Mars-Pluto conjunction at the end of Virgo. A female Jesus is going to stand out no matter what anyone does, but I think the strong Mars connection could help make it plausible for a woman to play a masculine role.
Natally, Erivo has the Sun and Mercury in Capricorn tightly square her nodal axis in Aries and Libra. The album’s Mercury is conjunct Erivo’s South Node in Libra, potentially making Erivo an important spokesperson for the album’s message.
Thank you so much for the SHOUT-OUT! I truly enjoy reading your updates and recommendations! More Goddess transits soon! xo
