I am thrilled to participate in this anthology...and even more so to read your thoughts on the editorial process with my astro-investigation of "The real Anthony Fauci":

"The two essays that scare me the most are “'Kennedy vs. Fauci' by L.P. Streitfeld and my own contribution, 'Scenes from a Realignment.' You could not have an essay anthology about Pluto in Capricorn without addressing the COVID-19 vaccines, as Streitfeld did."

Wow! My astro-influenced literature was catalyzed by Pluto ...when the Underworld Lord entered its own sign to trigger my 0° Jupiter in Scorpio. It scared me then, but I have gotten used to the fright of filtering Pluto over the years, and was rewarded for my efforts by rejections from the publishing world! What a gift for you, Eva, to embark on this Underworld experience with me and enlighten me to the primal reason for my prolonged isolation from the mainstream...that no one had the guts to tell me before!

Congratulations to Eva and my fellow contributors -- I am going to purchase the e-book!

I'm about to read your essay now and am really looking forward to it! I'll probably share some thoughts with you either directly (privately) or in this thread. I have no idea where you land on this topic, but regardless, I just want to sincerely thank you for taking it on. Okay, off to reading!

Thank you for your enthusiastic support Bryan! I’m grateful your public show of appreciation for my carrying through Eva’s brilliant idea analyzing an era in the form of a book review! This was my first such quantum assignment — to leap into the future to predict an outcome in the face of Uncertainty and then experience in real time the quantum leap that made my forecast a reality. My landing is squarely on Chiron transiting in supportive sextile to my Mars/Saturn (the ♈️ license to be original in my approach) and the unexpected surprise was Chiron inviting in Pholus & Nessus to inspire a revisioning in December. Eva was so honest about her struggle and so supportive to inspire a breakthrough into the binary setup…the gift that keeps giving as I just discovered the Tri Veca Code as the sacred geometry for the Third. “The Archetypal Lens” is a great title, describing precisely what we astrolgers do. I look forward to reading your essay as well and exchanging ideas!

You're welcome! I'm very impressed by the work you did and, from working with Eva, the work she did with you, too.

Also, thanks for reminding me---I loved the Pholus and Nessus stuff in the essay! One of the great gifts of being an astrologer in these times is we have all of these new archetypes to play with/to listen to. I'm still at the outset of exploring those but the work I've done so far with things like Sedna and Chiron has already paid great dividends, so I always appreciate fellow astrologers who add to my understanding.

Last---as for the title "The Archetypal Lens," thanks for noticing that. I thought it was a great title, too---but it was one of those things that felt "gifted" to me during the Mercury Retrograde of December 2023-January 2024. That was probably my most impactful Mercury Retrograde, which makes sense because the Mercury-Sun Cazimi happened right on top of my natal Mercury at 0 Capricorn.

Anyway, creating titles has long been a challenge for me, ever since my days of working in newspapers in the 1990s and trying to come up with headlines, all the way through naming my novel, which I didn't have until I was about 11 years into that 15-year project!

In this instance, I'd sort of turned the task over to my unconscious and I was in a Zoom call about something totally unrelated to all of this when I "heard" the words "The Archetypal Lens" in my head and immediately KNEW that was the title for the eventual blog, which I didn't start until March 2024.

All of that said, the ONLY feedback I'd gotten on it until yours was slightly negative---it was from a friend who is an elderly woman and she said that the web address: thearchetypallens was hard to remember how to spell and suggested I put some underscores between the words. I actually thought that was great feedback and a great idea, but, alas, I was unable to do that via Substack so it just remained.

Besides that, though, I think it's a great name and am happy I was given it by Mercury!

Okay, have a lovely week!

I love your story of "The Archetypal Lens" origin! The quantum effect of names is fascinating. It took me over a decade to be comfortable about using the name I was given, Shiva Lisa Paul.

Thank you for your feedback. I was stuck on the review until I went back to writing I had done on the asteroids and realized it would be much more innovative to incorporate them in my analysis. I had a direct hit of Pholus on my Mercury on April 24, the first Venus/Moon Gate on my Lunar Return. I just saw that on my calender before finding your comment. Synchronistic! Your Mercury on my 0 ♑️ MC. I really appreciate "being seen" as my MC ruler (Saturn) emerges finally from my 12H.

I emerge from this transition resolved to start a new Substack with my original byline devoted to literature. It is exciting how new voices are being discovered on Substack.

Another synchronicity. Mercury provided the name:

KAIROS!

I will be thrilled to exchange some literary content with my first reader, THE ARCHETYPAL LENS!

Shiva Lisa Paul is a super groovy name—-and no, I’m not saying that ironically or in jest, I really DO use groovy as the hippies did back in the day because, well, one part of my multi-faceted identity is “(US) West Coast hippie!”

Why do I think it’s groovy?

First and foremost, to me, the MOST important thing in a name, by far, is the poetry of it. In other words, does it sound good? Shiva Lisa Paul just rolls off the tongue—-the near-rhyme of Shiva Lisa, the softness of those consonants and then ending with a shorter word, but with one of the neutral consonants—a P—-as opposed to a hard one like a K or a T—-yup, to my ear, at least, totally passes the, lol, Poetry Test!

Second, as a rock music fan, I love how the Lisa Paul reminds me of Les Paul, the creator of some kick ass guitars.

Last—-while I’d love to hear more about how you got that name and why it took you over a decade to get comfortable using it, I feel like I can understand your reticence. At least from my perspective—-this is another aspect of me, the conservative Capricorn side—-taking on a name that seems a bit outside of the norm feels really challenging to me. I see how some astrologers go by names they were given and, honestly, I don’t know if I'd have the courage to do that.

Fortunately, I’m pretty good with my given first—-Bryan—-and last—-Winchell names, but don’t get me started on my lame middle one, Ross. Thank goodness I found painter Bob Ross in the late 1980s and he redeemed it some for me. It always just sounded weak to me, or something!

Finally, on another personal note, as one can tell by the names of my two kids, Oliver and Ivie, I’m very partial to “v’s” in names.

Okay, I look forward to collaborating and seeing what we—-and all of the others who are part of this Substack blogger journey that we cross paths with—-co-create here!
