Ah, very nice. The relationship between Hurricane Milton and the Astrology of Tampa is stunning. I have my piece coming out today. Jupiter Station is conjunct the IC and Square the ASC of Tampa, Florida, according to Carolyn R. Dodson's Horoscopes of the US states and Cities. At the same time, Solar Arc-Directed Saturn is conjunct Tampa's natal Mercury, ruler of the 4th (land). Ack.

How can we not be godsmacked (or is it gobsmacked?—first time I’ve used this word) with the cosmic language of astrology? Eva, your research is amazing in this the very best astrology blog.

Thank you, Elizabeth! Merriam-Webster has gobsmacked: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/gobsmacked

But godsmacked makes a lot more sense for the direction some are taking this in.

Fortunately, I haven't yet heard the kind of stuff referred to in the Alison Dale post linked here, where Pat Robertson and John Hagee laid the blame for Hurricane Katrina on things like abortion and homosexuality:

https://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/pat-robertson-controversies/6/

https://www.npr.org/2008/05/16/90508742/pastor-john-hagee-on-christian-zionism-katrina

You want to talk about blame and consequences — I think that kind of crap gave Barack Obama two terms.

As I compile firsthand experiences of Hurricane Helene, though, I have noticed some of the writers looking for meaning in what has happened to them, and some of that has occasionally gone in directions I find jarring as a reader. I think there is definitely a difference between an outside commentator looking in and saying, "It's the gays' fault" and someone actually having the experience saying, "It's my fault because of my own negative thoughts, or because I am being punished for something I did in my personal life." The latter can still be hard to read, but I think it is an understandable part of the grieving process. They have to work through it in their own way, regardless of what anyone else thinks about it.

Yeah, I do remember Robertson and Hagee making such comments, and also about 9/11, too.

It's strange---these days we hear a fair amount of fear from people on "the Left" about the rise of a Christian fascism (even from people I greatly respect such as Christopher Hedges), yet I feel like I rarely hear from the Robertson's of the world any more.

This could be because I'm in Japan, but considering I heard them in 2005 with Katrina when I was here and much LESS plugged into social media (because it hadn't really risen yet), well, I just find this an odd thought. Is there truly a threat from such a worldview? Or has that passed us by, but it's only kept its momentum due to things like TDS as well as popular culture narratives such as "The Handmaid's Tale"? Just askin' some questions here, don't shoot the messenger (good thing, Mercury has prepared for me a speedy getaway car...bye....! LOL)

Pat Robertson died in 2023. He was born in 1930, part of the Pluto in Cancer generation. Most of that generation has died at this point, and those of them who were conservative had a particular way of being conservative that I would agree is now less common. Hagee was born in 1940, Pluto in Leo, and is still alive.

Their replacement? The likes of J.D. Vance, who still opposes abortion but has worked closely with openly gay Peter Thiel for a long time. I still don't want J.D. Vance to be the president, but I acknowledge that some things have changed since the heyday of Pat Robertson.

I'm going to have to come back to this later today, so am posting this to hopefully buzz me and remind me---anyway, I'd like to look at the astrology of two other major disasters of the 21st century:

1) The 2004 earthquake/tsunami in SE Asia as it relates to astrology (I believe the nodes were just about to change then, from Taurus/Scorpio to Aries/Libra, but I might be wrong in remembering that).

2) The 2011 (March 11) earthquake and tsunami here in Japan. If I'm not mistaken Neptune was just about to enter Pisces.

Anyway, just putting this pin here and if anyone has any info on those two, I'd appreciate it.

Oh, and, again, THANKS Eva for ALL of the work you do as an archivist for our astrological community. You've become one of my most valued follows!

You're welcome -- and thank you for your support! This post has some info on the 2011 Fukushima incident, which indeed had Neptune about to shift from Aquarius into Pisces: https://astrologyking.com/fukushima-disaster/
