Substack lets me assign tags to my blog posts, and I do that to keep track of things internally. Unfortunately, there’s not a list of all the tags easily accessible to readers like some other blogging platforms provide. , Jupiter and the Telepathy TapesHill discusses Jupiter’s current Sabian Symbol, “Gemini 14: TWO PEOPLE, AT WIDELY DIFFERENT POINTS, ARE IN CONVERSATION WITH EACH OTHER BY MEANS OF TELEPATHY,” and reports that telepathy seems to be coming up in conversation a lot these days.
As a Libra Rising, I have the Jupiter-Saturn square in my 9th and 6th houses. With transiting Jupiter in Gemini in my 9th house, I might envision myself as the sort of cosmopolitan spiritual seeker who would be open to anything, including telepathy. Transiting Saturn in Pisces in my 6th house, however, brings to mind like a record scratch all the practical ways that uncontrolled telepathy could cause more problems than it solves.
Transiting Pluto is also opposing my Mercury at 0° Leo this month, so perhaps I am especially predisposed to see the worst possibilities in anything involving information at the moment. On one end of the spectrum, certain types of hidden information can be genuinely toxic — you’re better off knowing about it if your spouse is poisoning you or if a CIA agent is recruiting you. On the other end of the spectrum, some information is simply no one else’s business — you don’t need anyone reading your thoughts when you’re trying to calibrate the dosage of your new diarrhea medication.
There’s also a substantial gray area between those extremes. If Sheila in Accounting telepathically hears you having an erotic thought about her at work, does she have a right to report you to Human Resources? This could make #MeToo look like nothing.
Pretty much all of us past puberty, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, have had sexual thoughts that we are not stupid enough to voice to others or try to act on because the target is obviously unavailable for whatever reason. Sure, the Bible says that to look on someone with lust is to commit adultery in your heart. Even if that is true on some metaphysical level, though, it has never been practically enforceable on planet Earth. Most people therefore grow up with the implicit understanding that their erotic thoughts are their own private place, and they can only get in trouble if they physically say or do something that steps over the line.
As scientific knowledge grows, however, there is increasing evidence that non-physical phenomena can be physically seen on brain imaging. Yale researchers studying psychics who experience clairaudience were able to see activity in their brains when they heard sounds that were not there.
A Dr. Oz episode on the topic of past life regression also displayed the results of brain imaging done on a woman who was undergoing a past life regression. This revealed that, during the regression, she had a lot of activity in a region of the brain involved with memory and spiritual experience.
Telepathy would be cool if it only transmitted our coolest and most impressive thoughts, but so many of our thoughts are not cool or impressive. Pondering all this is a special kind of torture for a Libra Rising who wants to curate and control what people see.
I was pretty awkward as a baby astrologer in terms of figuring out appropriate boundaries for communicating my astrological interests to others, but baby astrologers at least have control over the data that they type into Astro.com. From what I’ve been told, baby psychics don’t necessarily even have that — sometimes they just hear or see things unbidden.
It seems like we are stuck with telepathy as a reality to some extent, so we need to figure out what the rules are. If the truth is that certain basic understandings about what is and is not private need to be updated, people should be informed of that.

New Moon 12/30/24
This New Moon actually doesn’t look too crazy. The Mercury-Jupiter opposition is finally separating for good, and the Venus-Uranus square is separating as well. Mars is still opposite Pluto, but that at least isn’t anything new at this point. With the Sun and Moon uniting in practical Capricorn, perhaps we have a chance to shake off chaos and get to work.
Thanks for the mention! What a gorgeously thorough newsletter!
I agree about the telepathy conundrum - it’s how I always feel about social media. My thoughts are not interesting enough to tweet about or send into someone’s brain🤣
