Weekend Entertainment Guide 4/11/25 + Full Moon 4/12/25
Yet another Aries/Libra lunation involving Chiron
Venus turns direct at 6:02 p.m. Pacific on April 12, shortly after the Full Moon. From then until May 4, we finally have no planets retrograde. Things could start moving forward quickly!
Full Moon 4/12/25
For the Full Moon of April 12, 2025, the Sun will be closely conjunct Chiron in Aries, and the Moon in Libra will be opposing all that. It may therefore be worthwhile to review other recent past Aries/Libra lunations that aspected Chiron in Aries. Examples include the notorious Solar Eclipse of April 8, 2024, where the Sun and Moon in Aries were both conjunct Chiron, as well as the Solar Eclipse of October 2, 2024, where the Sun and Moon in Libra both broadly opposed Chiron. The Full Moon of October 17, 2024, had the Sun in Libra opposite the Moon and Chiron in Aries.
Chiron is generally associated with themes of wounds and healing. When combined with the Aries/Libra themes of self vs. other, or individuality vs. relationships, the Chiron component of this Full Moon could bring out wounds specific to the issue of relationships. It might also spotlight relationships that are specific to the issue of healing.
If you regularly see a medical professional or other healer for a health condition, that relationship could be up for review. I loved writing my September 2024 piece on Carter Heyward, who wrote a book about her experience with therapy gone wildly wrong. On the other hand, if you’re not happy with the results you’re getting as you try to manage a health condition on your own, it might be time to reach out for professional help.
Meanwhile, Mars in Cancer forms a T-square with the Moon in Libra and the Sun and Chiron in Aries at this Full Moon. The three exact hits of the square between Mars in Cancer and Chiron in Aries, dragged out due to the Mars Retrograde, took place on the following dates: October 13, 2024; February 3, 2025; and March 26, 2025. At this point, the square is finally separating for good this cycle. However, the tension of the Full Moon could bring out a reprise of any related issues, perhaps in a way that resolves them for the time being.
Mars is the planet of self-assertion. In terms of essential dignity, Mars does not like being in the sign of Cancer — Cancer wants to care and nurture, and sometimes it is hard to care and nurture at the same time that you’re asserting yourself.
Aries, ruled by Mars, is basically the sign of self-assertion. I tend to experience Chiron as an indicator of where things will go wrong despite one’s best efforts. Chiron in Aries therefore mirrors the Mars in Cancer theme of self-assertion being frustrated or otherwise going wrong somehow. With Mars in Cancer especially, passive-aggressive behavior is a risk, as it often seems like there is no way to openly ask for what you want without causing some problem that you don’t want to deal with.
Interestingly, at this Full Moon, Mars in Cancer is trine a Venus-Saturn conjunction in Pisces. Venus-Saturn conjunctions are often seen as not great for love. They are often found in situations where someone settles for a disappointing partner because they feel like they can’t do any better.
However, the potential good side of a Venus-Saturn conjunction is that it can keep one’s expectations about relationships realistic. When you don’t expect another person to satisfy you completely, you’re less likely to be disappointed when they don’t satisfy you completely.
As Mars in Cancer harmonizes with the Venus-Saturn conjunction, lowering our expectations for relationship harmony might give us room to do what needs to be done.
Hot on Substack
had a good thread on Substack Notes about how the original 1937 movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs came out at a T-square of Neptune in Virgo, the Sun and Venus in Sagittarius, and Saturn in Pisces. The recent remake, Disney’s Snow White, came out last month with the same four celestial bodies clustered in a conjunction. via , The Maleficent Life of Steve Irwin, The Crocodile HunterCurtis looks at the transits for the 2006 death of Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter.

A unique opportunity: pay what you want for e-books
I’m shifting my book marketing efforts to my new book, Changing of the Guards: Pluto on the Precipice. However, I have a few unredeemed prepaid download codes left over from my 2023 efforts to market my previous books, Impossible Dreams: Hopes, Fears, and Expectations for Saturn in Pisces and Booby Prize: An Astrological Novel. I can’t return the excess codes to Amazon at this point, so I have another idea for unloading them.
Junior League of Eugene’s April-May fundraising campaign is supporting Black Thistle Street Aid, which offers medical outreach to the unhoused community in the Eugene, Oregon, area. Make a donation of any amount through the Junior League website here using the “Custom Donation” field and type in “Eva Sylwester” when asked “Which Junior League member are you donating on behalf of?” You can donate less than the book’s list price to get a discounted book, or you can donate more than the book’s list price to get a bigger tax deduction — up to you. Then, forward your receipt to astrologybooks@proton.me, note whether you have a preference for Impossible Dreams or Booby Prize, and I will reply with a prepaid e-book download code while supplies last. Unfortunately, this offer is only available to people with Amazon accounts in the United States due to Amazon restrictions.
Yikes! Some of this really hit home for me. Thank you. Also, thank you so much for the mention.
Thank you for the shoutout! I appreciate you and what you bring to the astrological community.
