As a Pluto in Libra Gen-X'er I hadn't fully appreciated the impact of 2008 on the milliennials coming up at the time until I heard someone explaining the Gamestop thing. Many of the Gamestoppers were children at the time their parents had lost homes and jobs back then. PS good luck with your new book - Jupiter moving into your Cancerian home-centred mid-heaven should augur well :)
Thanks! It would be interesting to look at outer planet synodic cycles for Pluto in Libra too. At least part of the Pluto in Libra cohort, those born before the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in late Libra, would have the Saturn-Pluto cycle in balsamic phase. All of the Pluto in Scorpio generation was at least born pretty early in the Saturn-Pluto cycle.
Thank you for another great Weekend Edition! Congratulations on your Novel! I am so happy for you! Great observation on the Saturn-Neptune cycle- my son and daughter-in-law were born in 1988 and 1989 respectively, and though they had disruptions during the recession, they were great at bouncing back and finding more lucrative opportunities.
And, thanks for the shout-out, I greatly appreciate it!
Thank you! My brother-in-law and sister were born in 1988 and 1989 as well, and they were still in college -- they met in a five-year BFA program -- for the worst of the recession. Things were definitely improving by the time they graduated. I think it helped that they had each other too. You just get further with two incomes than one, so I observed coupled millennials doing better than single millennials during and after the Great Recession. I didn't date much in college, but maybe I would have put a higher priority on that if I had known how things were going to unfold. You can't always control who you meet, though, and also I was pretty immature in college -- I wasn't ready to find a life partner at that age because I just needed more time to grow up.
Thank you for the fascinating insight into millennials, Neptune and Saturn and the recession, I hadn't thought of this before and it makes a lot of sense. As an elder millennial myself (with my Sun at 18 degrees Sag and Moon at 11 Cancer.. hi friend!) the recession and then the pandemic hit at interesting points in my life. I've often felt this is a link to Pluto in Scorpio, those of us who belong to this generation are having to learn some major lessons around transformation, power (empowerment) and loss. And thank you for sharing my post about Ukraine!
For sure, Pluto in Scorpio is not necessarily here to have easy lives. We aren't the first Pluto in Scorpio generation that has ever lived, though, so I wonder how we compare, in terms of things like balsamic cycles and so on, to the Pluto in Scorpio cohort that came into its professional prime during the American Revolution -- Thomas Jefferson was one of us, for example.
As I replied to another comment, the current Pluto in Scorpio cohort at least was born pretty early in the Saturn-Pluto cycle, after Saturn and Pluto met in late Libra, so that is one synodic cycle where we're not balsamic.
Oh that is a thought, looking back to what the previous Pluto in Scorpio generations might have experienced. Very interesting that they would have experienced the American Revolution, and I guess the French Revolution too. If only I had an extra day a week!
