First, thank you for including my Hermann Hesse article in "Hot on Substack." I enjoyed reading your introduction to Narcissus and Goldmund, a good complement to my article which fails to explain what the books is about. My bad :-) I also found it interesting that Jupiter was in Gemini when it was first published. I must have picked up on that vibe somehow. Thanks again

"The solar return chart also has a tight square between the Moon at 29° Gemini and Neptune at 29° Pisces. Political campaigns could play on our emotions and not necessarily be totally truthful. " - last night comes to mind in so many ways.

Yeah, vibes work in mysterious ways. I think my interest in Qveen Herby also has a component that could be described as Narcissus and Goldmund-esque, but that wasn't quite coming together the night I was finishing up this post. I am a cerebral nerd, not really a cavorter myself, but I seem to be drawn to my opposite in this regard.

I was glad to see more Queen Herby this week. Interesting, Narcissus and Goldmund-sequel

Haha, I wish, though that's where my imagination went after she was talking on episode 22 of her podcast about wanting an astrologer to regularly appear on her podcast. For now, you can subscribe to her YouTube and Instagram channels, and that will blow up your phone with all sorts of updates.

I see autocorrect "corrected" her name. Ugh.

I also took great interest in your comments about the style manuals. In a few months, Chicago will publish a new edition with a section on gender-identity pronouns! First time for catching up with the culture now. Chicago is also going to expand the guidelines for editing fiction, which has always been lacking. It seem like this time, Chicago is making major changes. Great for Uranian aspects and Jupiter in Gemini?

Yes, I knew you especially would love the post on style manuals! Thank you for the tip on Chicago. That sounds very Jupiter in Gemini as well. Just looked it up, and they are taking pre-orders for a September 2024 publication date. Of course, they will release the 18th edition now that I finally have a copy of the 17th edition. Hmmm -- so if I start taking submissions for Changing of the Guards: Pluto on the Precipice now with a publication date in November, will I be obligated to use Chicago 18th edition for that? I finally have financing for that (got a credit card offer too good to refuse) and just need to type up the call for essays.

Eva, I am in awe of your knowledge and writing talent. You write the very best astrology blog ever! I loved seeing the US SR chart and had not thought to look at it. Very timely. What does drive me a bit crazy if that I use classical astrology whole house 100%. That moves Pluto, ruler of the chart into the 4th chart and opposite a 10th house Merc in Leo. The potential for a truly radical shake-up of the country's foundations with reverberations in the communication of the "kings" (Leo) seems to be a given. At least Pluto will be trine Moon, and I wonder what you make of that. We'll be drawing on our past for stability, that the economy will pull through (Moon's 8th house)? In classical houses, Jupiter in Gemini moves into the SR 8th square SR Saturn in Pisces (5th). Yet sextile North Node. I don't know what to make of that--Jupiter rules the 2nd, money, and we may need to tighten that belt even more?

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the blog. Substack writer Dorothy Oja will actually be doing a webinar through Kepler College on the USA Solar Return chart in mid-July. I will post details in a subsequent Weekend Entertainment Guide -- hopefully I will be able to attend, but I have been busy with a lot of family visits back and forth.

I just pulled up the whole sign version of the chart. Moon and Pluto are trine by sign but not really degree -- by degree, much closer to a quincunx, Gemini/Cancer cusp vs. Capricorn/Aquarius cusp. Moon is 8th house in either whole sign or Placidus, and it seems like we do have a lot of debt in our economy. There are definitely times when a certain amount of debt makes sense, as discussed in my other comment, but there is a limit somewhere. Moon square Neptune, however, we might just try to dodge reality a little longer.
