Next week, I will use the Substack chat feature to provide an exclusive liveblog of the Democratic National Convention for paid subscribers to my Substack. The convention will take place August 19-22 in Chicago. I will watch it on C-SPAN and blog about the speakers with astrological commentary as I did for the Republican National Convention last month.
I analyzed the charts of some of the likely major players at the Democratic National Convention in Weekend Entertainment Guide 7/12/24. Additional charts potentially relevant to the Democratic National Convention are provided in this post.
It’s not just Democrats and Republicans in the race this year, though. As I describe later in this post, independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will have Mars transits blowing up his natal chart throughout the final stretch of the election season.

A look at Biden’s Democratic primary challengers
The Democratic primary leading up to this month’s Democratic National Convention was weird. It is hard to run against an incumbent — there is often tremendous pressure for members of a political party to continue supporting an incumbent. The vast majority of votes in the primary, representing 3,905 delegates, therefore went to President Joe Biden. However, Dean Phillips received 4 delegates, and Jason Palmer received 3 delegates.
Since Biden announced in July that he was withdrawing from the race, he endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take his place as the nominee. Harris then became the nominee via a virtual roll call of delegates that took place August 1-5, 2024.
No one is talking about Phillips or Palmer in relation to the convention at this point, but I give them credit for getting out there and picking up a few delegates each. Interestingly, both Phillips and Palmer have the transiting Jupiter-Saturn square that will define the convention interacting with their natal charts.
Phillips has transiting Saturn conjunct his natal Venus in Pisces, as well as transiting Pluto conjunct his natal Sun (time of birth unknown). Transiting Saturn conjunct natal Venus makes sense for a loss. Interestingly, he is also about to have a nodal return triggering his natal configuration of Jupiter and Uranus conjunct the South Node in Libra — something surprising could happen.
Palmer has a natal square between Mars in Pisces and Jupiter in Sagittarius. The transiting square between Jupiter in Gemini and Saturn in Pisces hits all that — sounds pretty frustrating.
More people to watch at the Democratic National Convention
Minnesota governor Tim Walz was selected as Kamala Harris’s running mate. This is my first look at his chart. Astro-Databank provides a date and city of birth without birth time.
Interestingly, Walz does not have personal planets interacting with the Jupiter-Saturn square like other prominent Democrats discussed in Weekend Entertainment Guide 7/12/24. His birth time is unknown, so I can’t say whether the Jupiter-Saturn square is hitting his angles. Transiting Pluto could now be hitting his Moon at the Capricorn/Aquarius cusp, but that can’t be known for sure without his birth time either.
Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer could have an interesting convention. She’ll have the transiting Full Moon on her natal Sun-Venus conjunction at the end of Leo. Meanwhile, the transiting Mars-Jupiter conjunction in Gemini will trine her natal Mars-North Node conjunction in Aquarius — she’s getting hit by one end of the transiting Jupiter-Saturn square in a way that is actually positive.
Updates on MyBookie and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
In Weekend Entertainment Guide 7/26/24, I said I would win a small bet on MyBookie if Kamala Harris receives the Democratic nomination and another small bet on MyBookie if Harris is elected president.
I received another $20 in free play from MyBookie for my most recent birthday earlier this week. I spent that on a bet that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would win the 2024 election. The way betting on MyBookie works, you win a smaller amount when a relatively safe bet pays off and a larger amount when a more surprising bet pays off. When I bet in August 2022 that Harris would win the election, my $10 bet translated to a potential win of $135. When I bet in August 2024 that Kennedy would win the election, my $20 bet translated to a potential win of $1,600 on the grounds MyBookie sees a Kennedy win as much less likely than a Harris win.
At present, I therefore have the potential for financial gain if Harris wins or if Kennedy wins. I do not have the potential for financial gain if Donald Trump wins.
Shortly before I placed the bet on Kennedy, I wrote daily horoscopes for November 3, 2024, the Sunday before Election Day. That day, Mars in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn, and then Mars moves into Leo. It dawned on me then that Kennedy was going to have one heck of an October, as I knew he had a big stellium at the end of Capricorn that transiting Mars in Cancer would therefore be opposing.
Astro-Databank now gives Kennedy 2° Leo Rising — news to me, but Mars blowing up his chart in October and then crossing his Ascendant on roughly Election Day has the potential for serious “Don’t Stop Me Now” vibes.
Having early Leo Rising puts Kennedy’s Capricorn stellium in his health-related 6th house. He is primarily known at this point for his comments related to medical controversies, so I think that checks out, even though the birth time only has a Rodden Rating of C.
The following Solar Fire report shows Kennedy’s Mars transits for September 2024 through November 2024.
The first column on the left is transiting Mars, and the next two columns describe the aspects it will make to Kennedy’s natal placements, followed by the dates and times that the contacts will take place. He’s got a lot of intense competitive energy coming his way!
I don't know who the people mentioned at the beginning are, but in general it seems to me to be a very professional analysis and vision.
I am not American, but if I were, I would have bet on Kennedy because the US chart is in tune with his, and the guy has already been rolled in the manure many times, he knows what he is about. As I see it, Kennedy is the Chiron of the Democrats.
I don't think Kennedy will back down, because his support for Trump was a given for a long time. I think he knew how to mask it very well, but he himself knew that his points would not go up, in addition to being sued everywhere, for pure nonsense. Kennedy was gaining ground among young people. Without a doubt the man became a threat rather than a nuisance.
And as things are now, if I were American I would abstain from voting, -out of dignity-. Although my support would indisputably be for the Republican party, I still think that Trump is in too dark a place, while Kamala is a real snake. The communism that is gripping the US is increasingly dangerous. With Neptune entering the 4th and Uranus in the 7th... poor society.
In my country I did not vote because both candidates were women and for me authority is solar, even if it is stupid, but solar. Unfortunately for us, the worst won.
