Weekend Entertainment Guide 5/10/25 + Full Moon 5/12/25
Neptune clouds surgeon general nominee Casey Means
As we approach the Full Moon in probing Scorpio, it’s a great time to dive into a mystery. One option is the controversy surrounding surgeon general nominee Casey Means.
Full Moon 5/12/25
At this Full Moon in Scorpio, the Moon will oppose both the Sun and Uranus in Taurus, adding to the baseline volatility that any Full Moon has. Things could get wild and unpredictable! Full Moon 11/15/24, six months ago, had a similar vibe with the Moon conjunct Uranus in Taurus; whatever was going on at that time, personally or collectively, could therefore be revisited.
That said, the Scorpio Moon will be trine the North Node and Saturn at the end of Pisces. These influences may provide stability in the midst of whatever disruption takes place.
Mercury will be square Pluto at the time of the Full Moon, potentially fueling intellectual conflict or stubbornness. However, Mars in Leo is finally some distance away from its opposition to Pluto, so perhaps we will be able to set egos aside to search for the truth.
Casey Means divides MAHA movement
Many Americans on multiple sides of the aisle agree at this point that the Red vs. Blue dichotomy has become toxic. The hard part of breaking out of those established alliances is that one must build new alliances. The hard part of building new alliances is that one can’t rely on easy indicators like an R or a D after someone’s name to determine who is trustworthy — sometimes one must simply interact with another person and let things play out.
The Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement is now going through growing pains of that sort. On May 7, 2025, President Donald Trump nominated Casey Means to serve as surgeon general of the United States. Some in the MAHA movement, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Robert Malone, have expressed support for this decision.
On the other hand, researcher
raised allegations about Casey Means and her brother Calley Means that are troubling if true. (Lerman rejects the label MAHA but shares many of the concerns that led others to adopt it.)In CIA Central Casting: The Means Episode, Lerman talked about the Means siblings’ role in convincing Kennedy to support Trump instead of continuing his independent campaign for president during summer 2024. Though Kennedy wrote a book presenting grievances about the activities of Anthony Fauci during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lerman argued that the Means siblings then shifted Kennedy’s interest in health issues in a way that diverted attention from those specific grievances about Fauci.
In The Means Psy-Op, Continued, Lerman went on to explore inconsistencies in the personal stories of the Means siblings. Lerman also noted that their father, Grady Means, has “ties to the military-intelligence industrial complex.” At that writing in January 2025, Lerman was thwarted in finding anyone who could comment on Casey Means’s time at Oregon Health & Science University, but Vanity Fair has since found sources willing to elaborate.
Nicole Shanahan, who was Kennedy’s running mate before he endorsed Trump, also criticized the Casey Means nomination in a post on X:
Yes, it's very strange. Doesn't make any sense. I was promised that if I supported RFK Jr. in his Senate confirmation that neither of these siblings would be working under HHS or in an appointment (and that people much more qualified would be). I don't know if RFK very clearly lied to me, or what is going on. It has been clear in recent conversations that he is reporting to someone regularly who is controlling his decisions (and it isn't President Trump). With regards to the siblings, there is something very artificial and aggressive about them, almost like they were bred and raised Manchurian assets.
Casey Means has a known birthdate on Wikipedia, but the time and city of her birth are not available. I cast the chart for Washington, DC, because it sounds from her father’s website like that’s where he was in the late 1980s. Early in the Cardinal signs, she has the Sun in Libra, Neptune in Capricorn, and the North Node in Aries. Completing an out-of-sign Grand Cross, she has Chiron late in Gemini (close to the beginning of Cancer). As transiting Saturn and Neptune continue to move back and forth over the Pisces/Aries cusp for the next several months, she will probably feel it!
With a prominent natal Neptune, Casey Means could have a bit of mystery around her at baseline. Transiting Neptune increasing the confusion might make it even harder to figure out what is really going on with her.
The synastry between Casey Means and the CIA is interesting, though both of these charts are untimed. Anybody born in the mid-to-late 1980s is going to have natal Uranus in Sagittarius opposite the CIA’s natal Uranus in Gemini. However, Casey Means has a volatile natal configuration of Mars in Virgo square Uranus in Sagittarius entangled with the CIA’s natal square between the Sun + Venus in Virgo and Uranus in Gemini. If I were in CIA recruiting and looking for someone who could predictably carry out the agency’s mission without attracting suspicion, I would not pick Casey Means. Means might be a loose enough cannon left to her own devices, but collaborating with the CIA would be especially likely to bring out that side of her.
That said, Means has Venus conjunct the CIA’s Mercury-Neptune conjunction in Libra, potentially leading to easy feelings of familiarity between the two.
I was drawn to Kennedy when he was an independent candidate dangling the possibility of an escape from the entrenched two-party system. After he endorsed baggage-laden Trump, I was disappointed. Maybe there’s a part of me that wants the story to be more complicated than Kennedy simply making a decision that I didn’t like.
Still, the criticisms Lerman and Shanahan have made of the Means siblings deserve to be investigated. Bringing this back to being an astrology blog, I will say that, when I started getting into astrology in my early twenties, I realized that the alternative spirituality world was unregulated relative to my conventional Christian upbringing. I came to understand that some things were outside the mainstream because they just hadn’t caught on yet, while other things were outside the mainstream for valid reasons — and it was on me to be discerning about the difference.
Similarly, in the past few years, many people discovered their dissatisfaction with the medical establishment and threw themselves into the alternative health world hoping for something better. There definitely are practitioners in the alternative health world who successfully help patients in ways the medical establishment is not really equipped to deal with at this time. However, this sort of success takes more than throwing around the right buzzwords. People should not allow their understandably powerful longing for healing to totally turn off their judgment.

, Hitler and the clownRogoff analyzes similarities between the lives of Adolf Hitler and actor Charlie Chaplin, who satirized Hitler in the movie The Great Dictator. Though Rogoff does not pursue this angle, astrologers often compare Hitler and Chaplin as near astro-twins because the two men were born only four days apart.
Rogoff previously wrote under the name Dr Marcus Morris and appeared in Weekend Entertainment Guide 4/26/24 as such.

Very interesting. I hadn't known who the Means were, so thank you. Probably irrelevant but Pope Leo became Pope when the Moon was in early Libra and he has a stellium in Virgo. Service, yes, but will he have interest in health?
On the RFK Jr discussion, I wondered what the aspects were in the 70s and 80s when so many of my generation chose a back-to-the earth, alternative health and medicine lifestyle. I think there was a book titled White Death referring to sugar. Now I am embarrassed to say that my late husband and I chose not to vaccinate our two children until they graduated 5th grade in a Spanish immersion school and the parent group sponsored a field trip for them to Costa Rica. I chose home birth with a midwife believing that traditional medicine did too many caesareans and the hospital procedures, and rooms, were out of touch with all things natural. I still believe in the efficacy of homeopathic medicine and herbs. Organic food. Meditation (my husband was a T.M. teacher).
I never thought I'd find anything in common with lunatic RFK Jr, but I am 100% in support of removal of dyes in food and removal of "soft" drinks and candy in school.
All of it makes me curious what planetary configurations were fueling this big wave of alternative medicine, an anti-vaccine mind-set, and whether there is any correspondence with the return of these ideas now.
Love it Eva. A MAHA Brouhaha! The high-achieving Means Twins (they should be twins) sound like they should be the high-school nemeses from Sweet Valley High. That's very interesting about her Neptune considering the alleged ties to pharma, and seemingly pushing RFK Jr. into the less offensive nutrition lane, as opposed to taking on the might of the medical industrial complex. Hmm - they do give off 'op' don't they?
